Why I take pictures…

Why do I take pictures?  A huge question with such a simple answer.

Photographs bring me SO much joy and they freeze moments in time.  I can capture a moment and keep re-living it over and over again.  With that being said, I do think it’s important to put down the camera some times and just enjoy the moment…but then again, it only takes a second to snap a picture.

Since I lost my dad I have looked at hundreds of photos of my life with him and my family.  I am so thankful that my mom captured so much of our lives growing up because like she says, he may be physically gone but we will always have our memories that we carry in our heart and no one can take that from us.  We are blessed to have so many of those memories captured in photographs.

Here are some photographs and memories that I will cherish forever.  They might also shed some light on why I am the way I am.  :)

Me, new to the world and bonding with my dad.

What…you didn’t dress up for Thanksgiving?

My dad, Becca, and me, snuggling.

Dad and me.

This was when I was a little boy.  Bottom left…haha.

 So many good times.

Ashley - I love how your Dad looked the same, from the day he was holding infant Myra to the day he walked you down the aisle. Though his body gave out, there was a steadfast spirit in that man that never wavered and it read across his handsome face. What a beautiful thing. :)
