There is No need to go on a cleaning spree or to hire a professional cleaning company, your home does not need to look perfect. You have little ones so it's okay for your home to look lived in. If you want to do a little tiding up, great, if not that's okay. We can move items out of the frame if needed. If anything, try and declutter a bit, wiping noticeable streaks off windows (master bedroom/nursery/living room) will go a long way. Put laundry away, toys in bins, etc...but Please don't stress about it. I have brought 4 newborns home and i totally get it!

Before I arrive, turn up your heat or turn off the A/C. Baby will be happier if they are nice and snuggly warm. Please gather any items that you hope to use in the session (stuffed animals, blankets...etc).

How to prep for your in-home newborn session

What do I need to do prior to our session?

We are documenting in your home so it's best to be comfortable. Mom, I know what it feels in those first weeks after birth, so consider a loose fitting shirt, sweater, or dress, whatever feels best. I encourage neutral clothing, staying away from clothing with logos or bold patterns. Bare feet look best in a home setting. Remember, your home will be warmer than usual, so keep that in mind when picking out your outfits.
For baby, a simple neutral onesie or just a diaper is best. Yes, there are tons of adorable baby clothes but it's hard to find an outfit that fits a newborn properly that won't be distracting in photos.
